Guy's I was wondering if the Zalman Reserator1 V2 still cuts it? I can get one at a good price, £120.

I will have an i7920 @4ghz in the loop, and with any luck one of the new series ati cards when they are released.

I don't think the zalman will cope with the 480 in the loop, or am I wrong? The 480 currently has a gelid icy vision on it. But really would love to put it in the loop.

It must be better than the Nero 965 cooler I'm currently using, and I really love the look of the zalman tower!

Edit- I notice it only supports socket 775, although this isnt a problem my P6T has 775 holes for the cpu cooler. Can one replace the water blocks for say, socket 1155?

Thanks for the reply dude, Is there much difference between the kit you suggested and the supreme LT for £30 less?

I'd like to keep costs to a minimum, also thinking about a generic gpu block for the 480 as I change graphics cards every 6 months and could carry it over with minimum fuss.

I don't see any of these generic gpu blocks on overclockers though.

I'm also using a modxstream OCZ 700watt. Overclocking the gpu and cpu, I assume this will be sufficient to run the loop aswell?

You can get Res1 on the bay for around £40-50inc
So £120 is WAY to much.

It will cool an i7 if all you do is game, surf and MS office etc.
But not if you render, video edit, DC.
You need a second Res1 for the GTX 480 (with a new pump and highflow block)

As for corrosion issues the Zalman kit doesn't have any - no Mixed metals are in direct contact AND a corrosion inhibitor is inc in the stock Fluid.

The 360 kit linked to is more than man enought for your hardware.
If you don't have the space - a 280 would be a better option (but temps will be simular to a silver arrow/D14 and sharman/MK-13) so why bother

My guess is you want a quieter pc - or you'd not even be considering a Res1
I so, the EK kit doesn't have the best Rad, Fans or Pump for a low noise loop.

Why watercool?
The Why is all important when selecting your loop hardware.
And for 95% of people air cooler are the best answer (what's needed) even if they are not what installed (what's wanted)

I'm still using a Reserator XT for an i7 2600K, two 480 GTX's and an 8800GTX, system water temp settles at around 45 running recent games. CPU temp max's at between 40 and 50.

Andi.

Wow thanks gent's.

I am after quiet, although I just love messing with pc's so much that I find things to do. Watercooling is something I have never done, and this needs to change :)

Still in the preliminary stages, trying to find out what I can get into my CM690

Am currently watching an XT on Ebay.
