I've liked the look of this for a while and I can't find a cpu cooler I like.

Basically it'll either it'll either go on my phenom 955 or my E8500 and if I get the gpu cooler in there too I might as well as I was going to get two vortexx neo's but I don't fancy taking off the heatsinks of either of my crosshair III or my Rampage boards.

saying this is it worth looking at water cooling before changing the bridges?

The first thing with Reserstors is get them second hand.
They are around 25% - 33% retail (massively undersold)

also don't try and run two hot gpus on a single res1.

if the rampage has the built-in NB block use that and the cpu block.
if not get the swiftech block that's designed for these boards and run cpu and chipset off the res1.

The neo's would be a good upgrade to the cards.

That way when not gaming the neo's are at 15-20% and the system is nice and quiet.
when gaining the neo's spin up - but your'll be waring headphone or have speaker.

Usually watercooling the graphics cards give the best results (temp and noise reduction) but stock res1 are not man enought for TWO hot cards. There are things you can do. And with a £200 budget a very quiet loop is possable second hand.
For example two Res1 in series and an exterternal pump will cool cpu and two gpu's

no offense to ocuk but I can get it online elsewhere for £150, so that 25% is already there.

I like the size and design and I personally can't fault zalman, guess I'll have to use my cpu's stock for a while :(

cheers

That wasn't what ShadowScotland meant. He meant that if you buy one second-hand you can get them for £40-£60.

That system would cool your CPU at stock in total silence (and I really do mean silence).

If you wanted an overclock then you need a Reserator 2 which is a more conventional looking thing, but far more efficient or a proper passive radiator like an Innovatek Konvekt-o-Matik (the best, but very expensive) or Alphacool Cape-Cora (a Konvekt-o-Matik copy, but with a much lower surface area).

The trick with any passive system is to pick low back pressure components as the flow paths are usually very long and tall for some reason.

The stock Zalman Heatsinks work really well with the reserator, and I wouldn't change them if I was buying new.
