We have the Zalman Z9 case, and the EVGA X79 motherboard.

Everything works fine, except the case power button. Reset button, leds, everything works fine but to power it on you must press the mobo power button.

We've temporarially fixed this by plugging the reset switch cable into the power switch cable which means the reset switch is now a power button and works fine.

Anyone got any ideas what's up with the power switch?

You have to manually connect up the power button to the wires. Take off the front panel and you should be able to connect them up.

The power button comes disconnected. Pop off the front panel and you will see the green/black and green/white cables that need plugging into the connector. I also pop out all of the blanking plates behind the front panel to improve airflow (yes i own the case lol)

Awesome thank you, will do!

No worries, Firefly just pipped me to the post. Oh on a side note. The fan on the side of the case makes a rattling if left there. I'd move it to the bottom of the case (helps cool GPU) or the ceiling of the case by the exhaust fan (to help cool CPU).

The bottom vents for the PSU are pretty naff and no filter, so I would suggest mounting the PSU fan up in the Z9
