Hi,

I'm thinking of getting the Zalman ZM-MFC1 Plus Black Multi Fan Controller for my new Antec 300 case to control 3 Akasa AK-274CB-4BLS 120mm Blue LED Fans and the 2 exaust fans on the case and was wondering if this can also be used to control the speed of the sunbeam core contact freezer CPU cooler fan?

Also, will I have any problem conecting all these fans to the controller? if so can any suggest anything like extension cables?

Thanks.

Also, if anyone owns this controller and can say if its good/bad/ok etc that would be great.

I have two of these fan controllers on different machines and the reason that I like them is that they are simple and do a single job well. From what I can remember you get two Y splitters with the controller which enables you to both control the speed of the fans and also allows the MB to monitor the fan speed. You might also get some additional fan extension cables but I cant recall. You shouldnt have any problems with connections as long as the fan cables reach the controller.

The controller comes with fan extension cables (4) and also extension and speed monitoring cables (2) to allow you to control the CPU fan but still have the RPM output sent to the CPU header on the motherboard.

The only limitation is your fans need to be 3 pin.

It's an excellent controller, one of the best available for no nonsense fan control.

I've got a Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme Fan Controller part number

RHK-EX-SV (silver)
RHK-EX-BK (black)

There really quite nice, however the Range of voltage is rather werid... from 0 volts to 12 volts (or 11.5 volts)
most fans need about 7 volts to powerup, but once spining need less, which can lead to fans not spinning up till you take them over 7 volts.
Also the blue LEDS are very very bright when u have the fans set to full power.

Part from that it powers my delta and other fans fine !!!

I'm still waiting to use my zalman on my new case but here are some pics i posted in another thread - it's one of the smartest looking controllers i reckon and seems well made.
