the 3 Zavvi shops in Bristol all have close HMV stores so I can't see them taking any over.

the manchester arndale one being rebranded to HMV means that there are 3 HMV's within the arndale/market st and a fopp just off, nice little monopoly there, not that there are any competitors now really other than independents

The Derby one has closed.

I just popped there last week to see how much Blu Ray disks had come down and it was all boarded up.

I interviewed an ex employee of the woolworths distro and they were indeed one of the major suppliers for Zavvi. With them cut out they had to source media from other sites which was inevitably more expensive. Shame.

Zavvi in Leicester city center is still open, suppose they still have a lot of stock to sell.

Yep I have, I thought they were still owned by Richard Branston tho. I guess I'm a little behind the times!

So did all the shops get rebranded to Zavvi or was it just a change of ownership?

All the shops were bought in a management buyout.

The ones that are still open are open until friday, not sure about the ones that are being bought out by HMV

anyone know if the remaining shops are gonna reduce the prices further down before they close or is it gonna stay the same 25%

Gotcha, I can't remember the last time I went to a Virgin megastore but it must have been before the buyout.

I'm not sure but I read it as all the stock has been bought by HMV, so I can't see it getting reduced any more
