Just got the dispatch email today, anyone else getting it?

In my opinion nintendo have screwed up a bit by not scrapping the GC release. If it was only out on the wii i'd have bought one (well, kept one ;) ). But as it stands i'm buying the GC version simply because I want to play it with normal controls, like any other zelda.

No reviews ANYWHERE as far as i can see. Nintendo are probably trying not to shift attention away from the wii, but it'd be nice if we had ONE before release from somewhere :(

I'd have been pretty annoyed if they had scrapped the GC release - it only took this long due to adding all the wii functionality. I don't think they've screwed up though, the lure of the wii controls are enough for a lot of people & it's not like there's any significant gamecube releases after this.
Remember that the GC version will mostly sell to people (Like me) who would like a wii but can't afford one yet - Nintendo wouldn't make any money from us this christmas if this zelda game wasn't coming out.
I think you're right there seems to be a complete media blackout on the GC version - the US version is out today though, so reviews may appear soon.
I can't wait to play this game personally.

My GC order has finally shipped 30mths after I ordered it on import.

I just hope it gets here before christmas.

I was going to get a Wii but this was the only title that really made me want one but I will play the GC one until after christmas and then see what santa brings in the new year.

Thx's just saved me a few £ i had no idea it was available on the GC

Yup, my wife was going to buy me a Wii for Christmas but I told her not to bother and leave it for a few months when there are more games out. Even though I'd love to get one I still play on my Gamecube and the graphics on that often astonish me still so I'm happy to keep playing it for the time being. I noticed it on the shelves in the game shops in town today marked as "coming soon" which usually means the following Friday. I might pick it up this week if I can find time to finish off Wind Waker first :)

I would advise if you want the gamecube version to pick it up as soon as possible. I have strong feeling it's gonna be a git to get after the first pressing sells through ......

Yeh... I think it could be one of those games which'll be worth a fair bit in a few years too. Always find the last few big releases for a console fetch a bit.

That's a shame, the wii controls lends itself perfectly to zelda:)

Agreed. If I had a Wii, I'd get the Wii version.
That said, I'm sure i'm going to get 95 % of that 'new zelda' magic on the Gamecube.
OT: Tomb Raider legends just came out on 'cube for budget(ish) price. Could be worth picking up if cube is your only system & you wanna stretch even more life out of it.
OT: Which means, I think, that Twilight Princess will be the 2nd last PAL 'cube game & Harvest Moon : Magical Melody last ? (Could be worth picking up a copy as an investment)

Seems like Zelda is going to be hard to get on the cube, several online stores have sold out and apparantly there are shortages in the US too. I can't imagine it has sold that many copies (it's very rare for a new release to sell out these days) so I guess Nintendo are trying to force people over to Wii.

Recieved mine this morning. Quickly finished gears of war (just had to defeat the last boss :p) and then stuck it in. 1hr40 into it at the moment and i've just left the first village and turned into a wolf for the first time.

It really is brilliant so far, the movement and combat has been improved dramatically. It's been a while since I've played wind waker, but the movement just feels far smoother. The camera keeps up with your position nicely.

The graphics are fine as well, i'm playing it through the standard cables on my 32" toshiba LCD and it looks fine to me. Others might be picky though.

Loving it so far :)

Actualy, I think it was in Nintendo's interest to release the GC version. The game was originaly developed for the console and there would be a fair few angry people (yours truly included) if they were suddenly forced into buying a Wii to play a game developed for a console they already own. Factor in the fact that there hasn't been anything first party worth buying on the GC for absolutely ages and I'd say it's a good move to make.

Anyway, mines sitting downstairs on the table still in its shrinkwrapping. I'd tear it open right now but I have to wait ten more days :(

Great to finally have a review of the 'cube version. It seems there is an actual gameplay difference in the way the spin attack works. In the 'cube version, you charge it first as always but in the wii one it can be pulled instantly & must recharge afterwards before you can use it again.

So I finish work in 20 minutes, should I go out and buy this if I can't get a Wii for the time being or is it worth waiting until I get a Wii?

Just started playing my copy and haven't got enought into the game to judge it overall but the graphics seem rather disapointing. I'm not sure if the Wii version graphics are any better but the Cube's graphics look like an improved version of the N64 Ocarina of Time engine than a game that been in the making for over two years. Compare to Resident Evil 4 they do seem poor.

I'm sure the game play will be excellent like all Zelda games.
