Bought
3800X
Asrock x570 Taichi

Swapping the below from my old rig

2 x 250gb Samsung nvme drives
2 x Samsung 250GB 850SSD's
1000w Superflower Plat PSU
Vega 64 Nitro
Evga CLC 280 AIO
3600 C16 Trident Z RGB
Phanteks P600s Case
Acer 100mhz Freesync 3440x1440p UW 35" Screen.

Moving from the above bits with a CH6 and 1700 @3.8ghz 1.34v

Once the CPU and Mobo turn up i intend to bench my current setup, then replace the 1700 with the 3800x and see how the CH6 treats it and bench again.

Then swap it all over to the 3800x and bench again for a final time.

Wont be reinstalling windows until i feel there is a specific amount of performance loss.

Wanted to start a Zen2 owners thread so new owners can compare and discuss hopefully without the usual bickering between which platform is better. And hopefully help prospective buyers who may be in a similar position in the future.

Feel free to post and discuss your setups old and new.

That looks nice! What res are you at? Do you own Arma 3?

As stated in my post 3440x1440p 100hz Freesync

And no I don't own Arma3, game doesn't interest me in the slightest unfortunately :(

I pretty much only play Mmorpgs and Arpgs, and the very occasional shooter like BF or extremely rarely Cod, my kids play that fortnight and Apex Legends nonsense tho

I bought them a 2600x just after Xmas on an MSI B450 gaming Pro Carbon, I may swap them to the 3600x as they have the same ram as me, that should sort them for ages, they have my old 1080FE and paired with my old 27" 1440p 144hz Freesync screen running in G-Sync.

For a while their PC was faster than mine!

Dont think im meant to own what i ordered lol....

Ordered CPU elsewhere on Sunday, originally told Thursday delivery, this then changed to Sunday, and as delivery was my work i changed the delivery location to home as it was looking for sunday 14th... soon as i done that its put it back to Sunday 21st ROFL... atleast i have my x570 turning up today i thought.. got the DPD delivery to pickup location email, sorted, just drove up there to get it, and guess what, its not there, drivers scanner was not working so it went back to Depot for delivery tomorrow hahaha... what a complete failure for me! no rush anyhow as i cant use the damn thing til the 21st.

Ok so i originally ordered the 3800x but due to the fiasco trying to get one (cancelled order 3 times due to shift in delivery dates, and also due to suspected scam seller) i have now just opted to buy a 3700x, will look at getting a refresh chip next year and building a new rig for my youngest son with the 3700x then :)

Im migrating my stuff to my new x570 taichi this weekend when the chip arrives, whats peoples recommendations for getting the most from the chip? Stick everything to auto and let it do its own thing? or dial in a manual OC with as low voltage as i can get without gimping performance?

Will be using 16gb of G-Skill 3600mhz C16 Ram and an Evga CLC 280 AIO, what kind of temps should i be looking at for daily use, Idle / load (gaming load)?

Any advice?
