I have the Creative Zen Vision M, and when I first switch it on the buttons etc light up, the screen boots up says creative and then the screen goes black and stays like that for about 2-3 mins, the lights are on but no ones home :P, anyway eventually it loads onto my library and all works ok. I have formatted the player and it still does it.

Anyone know why it takes ages to get into the player?

I know the obvious answer is to put the latest firmware on, but when I select vista it doesn’t show the firmware on the website.

Also one last thing, I hear that the USA firmware is better, because its louder. As I am currently using 23 on volume to get it to a decent volume to hear it.

Thanks in advance

Deano

Have you upgraded to the latest firmware on the player?

I have vista and my player updated fine.

Is yours the 30Gb or the 60GB?

I'll give you a hand upgrading it.

As above, make sure latest FW, last few did speed them up.

After you add a lot of files they do slow down, press reset with a pin and boot to the safe mode menu, choose CLEAN UP, it will be much faster after that, you will not loose any of your media but it will reset your menus and you need set them your own way again.

Thanks guys

I'm at work atm, I haven't updated the firmware to the latest but I have updated it in the past (If that makes sense :p). Its the 30gb version.

Also how do you get safe mode on these? I pressed the reset and it didn't bring the option up.

and this american firmware? anyone using it?

The USA FW does not have stupid EU crap Volume limit (thank the Frogs for that), so its louder if you need that extra volume.

You should visit here: http://epizenter.net/news.

Your info that came with player tells you how to enter Recovery Mode (safe mode), you press pin in hole while holding power button, used to have to flash FW that way if you wanted to crossflash from EU to USA.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys!

And that website is worth a bookmarking. :D

Quick Edit:
Put that firmware on and I'm now literally half deaf lol, and the booting problem is now fixed.
Thanks again!!
