Zen Touch Freezing

My mate dropped her Zen Touch the other day and since then she can't play her music, as it's stuck on one song and none of the buttons work, but she can scroll up and down using the touchpad, but won't allow her to play a song.

I've tried getting the recovery console (play/pause button and paper clip in the reset hole), but to no avail, it just goes to the same song again.

It does seem certain that it's beyond help, but does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the zen touch, but i know when i dropped my zen xtra it had same symptoms as that.

I just replaced the battery and all was back to normal.

Have you tried plugging it into the PC and using the Creative management panel? You can move/copy/format from there...

My gf got one of these well two in fact as the first one came without fully functional firmware (wouldnt load up to anything and would not interact with pc) so that one got sent back quickly.

Generally when these things seem to get stuck there is no other option but to send it back as you said you cant get to the maintanence to format it or update the firmware.

so RMA i am afraid it sounds like.

ive got this problem too but I can just work some of the left side buttons if I press really hard and hold but the right side is completely buggered

anyway ill probably just wait till microsoft release their version of the music/video player and buy theirs

Mine did this also, got worse eventually by resetting itself so i ended up takeing it apart, turned out the reset button had come off the circuit board. eventually it just died and its still in peices.
