Zen Vs Sky

If you're limiting yourself to those two then Zen would make more sense.

PlusNet would do the equivalent for significantly less if you can live with the minor annoyances.

Always heard good things about Zen, however cost is the number one factor for me.
All of the fibre services are going to offer you a "much of a muchness" service - so when I was looking to move 6 months ago I found the best deal available and I'll put up with the couple of outages a year.
If they are going to cost you the same, go Zen.

Whether you mean ISP service or customer service I suspect this isn't true.

Not all ISPs offer a static IP for example - one is free on Zen, can't find anything on BT, plusnet offer it for £5.

I was with zen for a year of ADSL some time ago and their customer support was much better than BT, plusnet, or virgin, in my experience. Seems to still be true as Which? recently awarded them 2016 best telecoms service provider.

I was looking at going with Zen until I popped into the Zen section over on ThinkBroadband. It seems they are not as good as they once were. I ended up going with a small isp based in Devon (Pulse8 Broadband) who offer a 30 day rolling contract :)

I am not getting the 76Mbps estimated speed as yet, but it is still early days (only had it activated on the 1st Aug)

I was very impressed with the Customer service as well. You get straight through to a Human (None of that press 1 for this nonsense like you get with Sky) and they have been quick to reply to emails. So far so good.

If you didn't have that speed from day one you most likely won't every see it.

FTTC lines stabilise down not up.

Apparently G.INP being enabled will make a difference, or so I was told over on ThinkBroadband. I am getting around 65Mbps at present. Still much better than my old 8Mbps ADSL.

Also my Master socket is an old LJU2 type which doesn't accept a faceplate. I do have a BT branded NTE5 which I plan on fitting though (BT don't need to know :D), but I need to check the internal wiring first to make sure that isn't adding to the problem.

I was with Sky, now with Zen. TBH the broadband has been no different, however Zen refused to do a DLM reset for me so I had to get my mate to do it. Sky did it no issues last year so I will be moving away from Zen when I'm out of contract.
