Zero calorie noodles

Anyone else eating (I use the term loosely!) these?

Super expensive for what you're getting - they're like 95% water - but great if you're cutting or just trying to loose weight and hate feeling hungry. Especially if you're reducing carbs. My 600 calories stir fry has gone from disappointing to feeling super stuffed as I can almost double the meat and veg and still come in under.
 
I've used them when dieting just to pad out plates - as long as you wash them thoroughly and add seasoning/sauce they're entirely edible - but yeah they're not that cheap, although saying that if you have an Asian supermarket near by you can often get Shiritaki noodles (which are the same thing) for less than the ones branded/aimed at dieters.
 
The ones I had literally tasted of nothing on their own, but with soy sauce in a stir fry I couldn't really tell the difference between them and glass noodles.
 
Tried a couple and found them disgusting, but want to try them again after seeing this video, which "cooks" them for a long time.

... from the rainforest. They have literally zero flavour and work dry fried or boiled.

I just took a gamble and ordered 20 from the asiancook shop (about 1/4 the price) and hoping for more of the same.
 
Had quite a few of these in the past both pasta and rice variants.

They aren't bad but there was something odd about the texture of them which wasn't pleasing for me haha.

They're perfect for bulking out meals though as they literally dont taste of anything!
 
Courgetti and cauliflower rice are your friends here. Much tastier and much cheaper!

This. Buy a spiraliser and go HAM on some proper vegetables. I often pack out a Stir Fry with some 'courgetti'.

Dig out your grater and muller some cauliflower with it too, great replacement for rice. Good for bumping up your pr0tons too.

Ultimately don't eat to the point you feel 'stuffed' every time, it's dysfunctional.
 
Yeah - don't see the point at the prices they charge. When you can just spiralise, grate or even chop some veg, Zero cal noodles don't offer much for the money.
 
Make noodles out of courgette, that's what I did when I went gluten free.

Just use a cheese grater, boil them for a few minutes, drain = job done. Pretty tasty as well, providing you like courgette obviously :p

Just eat normal noodles FFS, watch portion size.

That's what I've been doing. By the book, to the calorie. Leaves me hungry and ****ed off. With these noodles I free up enough calories to have this in one sitting and not go over.

Erm, save your cash and just eat all that without the fake noodles?! Bulk it out with stir fried spring greens and bean sprouts.

Courgetti and cauliflower rice in addition and you'll be sorted for pretty much everything. If you get bored then butternut squash makes for good noodles.

well, i would be looking at your TDEE and make sure you are eating sufficiently first of all. Also bear in mind you should aim to get around 250-300g of carbs a day, and if you exercise you can go way higher. So unless you spent the rest of the day eating pizza and cake then you most liekly have the calories spare for some real noodles. Or of course you could just use additional vegetables.



Those zero noodles will you up for a very short time before you feel hungry again since they are mostly water.

What on earth are you talking about... suggesting a carb macro for someone that (I presume) you know nothing about with regards to their TDEE, exercise habits, goals or dietary preferences?

Sorry but that statement just screamed at me at being really out of place :confused:
