ZIP file password recovery

I need to recover or bypass the password to a ZIP file.
Can anyone recommend a method or software that they used to do this successfully?

There are various options available when I Google it, but I'm not sure if I can trust the paid methods being offered?

The short answer usually is "no". If you have absolutely no clue about the password then it will probably take years to crack.
