If i may draw your attention to the image of the back panel on this product:

ZM-MFC3_b_03.jpg

Is that a normal PWM connector? I cannot seem to attach a 'normal' pwm connector to it, due to the tabs on the connector not having any 'groves' on the male part of the controller. Any ideas? Am i being dim?

The fans speed controller come with an extension cable / adapter. It may be the case when you insert the cable the plastic clip goes over the ridges of the fan connector and rests on the top edge of the connector, rather than slide between.

Zalman do use a non standard connector and the normal plugs will not fit. The adapter/extension cable is the same. What you need to do is remove the tabs on the plug with a sharp knife and all will be well. I had to do the same with my ZM-MFC2's.
