Zombie attack - what weapon would you use?

Well, if the zombies attack, I don't suppose I'll get a chance to pop to the nearest military depot to pickup any 'dream' weapons. So, based on what I have around the house - I'd go with a claw hammer.

Actually, I've got a pretty big axe in the shed, so I might go with that.

Wouldnt your superiors take issue with you running off with all that stuff? :o
If i'm at the point where i need that equipment, i'll either already be deployed and equipped with most of that kit and fighting the outbreak with my fellow colleagues or all order would have broken down and nobody would give a rats.:D

People can keep their swords/bows/guns...A cricket bat really is the only weapon for any true Englishman in this situation. It would feel weird with anything else.

Failing that though, an attack helicopter.

I think to keep them at distance a long two handed sword which can be used in sweeps they will not be the trying to dodge then a small shield and modern made mace. Short sword or axe risks getting stuck in them.

Also a small fire arm for tight spots, :)

Water doesn't stop zombies

Don't think anyone said it did, but I have never seen nor read them climbing out of water.

only thing i can recall is them walking out of the sea/lake in.... "name that movie" (can't think of it, they have that road train thing)

but they don't climb a sheer cliff out of water, so while it doesn't stop/kill them I would be safe. :p

Am armoury would be my best choice too, with internal cage, weapons, a bloomin great door and ration packs, youd be set. I remember my old CCF contingent too having A2s just before I left. They arnt bad at all.

Thinking about thing around the house, I'd probably go for the claymore over the katana with maybe a hand axe tucked in my belt.

I'm looking at my compound bow sitting in the corner of the room, but it's a big thing and only has 16 arrows with it. I've damaged so many arrows whilst target shooting I don't know how they would last in zombie skulls and replacements would be hard to get.

Not sure an arrow cobbled together from wood and feathers would cope with the firing characteristics of a compound bow. If I had a recurve I'd go for that.

Film - land of the dead

Weapon - bare knuckles wrapped in cloth dipped in glue then glass shards

A hefty broadsword, which could be swung like an axe and used as a stabbing weapon. Also gives one a bit of range as well to keep the pesky undead at arms length.
