Zombie attack - what weapon would you use?

Swords can blunt and easily lose their effectiveness.
 
I'd go with an HSLD HK416 setup, simply because I would look badass. 10 inch barrel, AAC suppressor, EOTech EXPS3 + HHS, PEQ-15, Surefire M300 and a **** load of ammo

Yeah I may eventually run out of ammo, but it's a lot harder to find a rifle than it is a samuri sword or a baseball bat. So if the worst comes to the worst, I can sling my gun and pick up a melee weapon.

My weapon of choice would have to be a melee weapon of some sort. Something I can use to attack with minimal risk to myself, so it would need to have some length to it, a spear of some sort sounds perfect.

This. And if it's Dead Set/28 Days Later zombies then I doubt a melee weapon would be very effective against more than 1/2 geeks at a time.

On a more serious note, samurai sword and as a second weapon, probably some pistol with a silencer attached.

A compound bow would be great too!
 
Guns are useless over time, Swords might work well but will eventually dull, break, or get stuck in a zombie body. The best weapons are blunt force objects that won't degrade over time. There's no need to go chopping zombies up into pieces. Blunt force trauma to the head will kill, to the limbs will break them and leave them crippled.

I'd go with a crowbar. Doubles as a tool, and a very effective bludgeoning tool.
 
Vehicle of choice would be a combine harvester, just plow through them.

After that, i'm more of a sword/mace kind of guy, don't run out of ammo. Probably lean towards a couple of Flails.

Hardened leather armor as well.
 
Feed them people who think zombies are a culturally significant alternative lifestyle because of the deep yet subtle social commentary disguised as playful bizarreness, and that dressing like a dick in make-up is in any way acceptable behaviour for an adult.

edit: oh and home made nailbat of course :) actually i've changed my mind this would be my first choice.

Assuming the pro's would be - it wouldn't go blunt, ever. The nails would strengthen the wood. You've got quite a bit of distance to swing. You can use everyday materials you'd find at home, i.e nails.

I think it would need to be a rifle with a good scope to pick them off from a distance, then a samurai sword for the close up work...... But from what I've heard flapjack of the trianglier type is pretty hardcore!
