Zombie U help & hints

Hi Guys, I could not find a dedicated thread for this so apologies if one exists already.
I lost my longest running survivor last night (4+ hours) he had a bag full of equipment & weapons (Shotgun, Crossbow & Rifle) & then died again before I could recover my gear so is that gear gone from the game now? or does it respawn back at the place you found the items?

Look on the CCTV monitors they tell you where your weapons can be found.They seem to spawn radomly not in the same place.

God it's dead on here, I was expecting a complete survivors guide by now.
Top tip for the inevitable Zombie apocalypse when looking for shelter try to hole up in a tube station that also doubles as a warehouse for a cricket bat manufacturer.

Another top tip, make sure you add folk from the NNID thread as dead survivors from their games can turn up in your game complete with inventory they had when they died. Confused the hell out me at first but can be a life saver!

Definitely add windle I've found him in my game loads of times with a bag full of loot

I will do when I get my wired network adapter my dam router wifi wont let the Wii U connect for some reason.

I'm up to survivor 10/11 now, rage quit the other night when I lost my survivor i'd had for ages. Hads a crossbow, carbine and pistol with lots of ammo and medipacks etc and got omgwtf one shot bit

Actually I could do with some help on this, I'm not far in at all and I'm already stumped. In the market place there is a shed with some numbers you can only see using your scanner. Two of them are in the shed (look like 78 backwards), and two are on the wall. The ones on the wall look like 'JO' or some weird symbols. The door to it is nearby but for the life of me I can't figure out the code.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yes you need to be able to decode them when you update your scanner later on

Ah okay thanks, I must have taken a wrong turn then - trying to find my way to Buckingham palace, thought this was the only way through.

Any general hints? I'm early on but finding it quite frustrating, I have been using the radar but it seems to be very hit and miss. The last time I died I used the radar, nothing found and 2-3 seconds later I had 2 zombies on me. Do they just spawn from nowhere? (in which case, is the radar much use?).

I think part of my problem is the controls which are quite clunky, as soon as I get 2+ zombies I have 0 chance of survival (not helped by them spawning behind me as above). It also seems to rely quite a bit on cheap tactics, i.e. no zombies then OMG you touched a door now there are 5 of them which combined with the clunky controls means I just plough headlong into death.

I'm trying to stick with it since the only other game I have is Mario and I don't want to be left with just one game for this console but right now it's not proving much fun. I'm hoping I am just not clicking with it yet and that I will in time but any advice on how I ought to be playing would be appreciated.

Bit of a reanimation of this thread, but recently been thinking bout getting a Wii U to join my PS4 after seeing the new Mario game, and also wind waker.

But when the Wii U was released I was tempted to get one cos of Zombie U, I'm a horror nut, zombies especially so this was right down my street, but I heard some bad things.

I think it looks really interesting, and graphically quite nice too, but is it any good? I heard the controls are a bit ropey, due to the Wii U gamepad... Any truth to that? Just like people's general thoughts on this game?

Its a cracking game - I can't buy it though because my kids wouldn't sleep again if they happened to see it.

ZombiU was a terrific launch title in my opinion and was a true survival horror game with a fantastic atmosphere.

The game itself generally suffered from an extremely mixed reception with scores ranging for 4 to 9 out of 10 and certainly split opinion. As a fan of the original Resident Evil games I found this to genuinely be the first survival horror game I'd enjoyed since the original Dead Space (res evil was already an action game by then).

The Wii U Gamepad certainly adds to the experience and keeps things very tense, the controls work absolutely fine although when you're in a panic and trying to swap inventory it can be quite frustrating...that's only from you trying to rush it however, again lending itself to the experience

It can now be picked up for what £12 and for me it's a bargain, takes around 8-10 hours for a play through to complete. Definitely one to consider if you buy a Wii U and to me is proof of concept for the Gamepad.

Nice one jrodga, I think I will really enjoy it TBH as it's is so my sorta game. Survival horror is and always will be my fav genre, but most of the survival horror games (like RE as you mentioned) have become yet another action shooter to add to the million we already have.

Seriously tempted by this, the Wii U isn't too expensive either.

You're right there the Wii U isn't too expensive, keep an eye on hotukdeals and you will definitely find a very good deal over the coming days/weeks no doubt...in fact maybe as early as Cyber Monday

Whatever pack or whenever you decide to pick one up just shop around and you'll get ZombiU at a terrific price and from what you've said, it should be right up your street.

I got my Wii U and ZombieU in the end.

Wii U is fantastic, and ZombieU, oh what a game! The review scores it got was complete BS, I'm loving every minute of ZombieU... one of the best games I've played in a long long time. I hope there will be a ZombieU 2!?!?!

I have now had the error code that stops me playing the game

Not sure what to do about it as I can't even get to the main menu - it just crashes loading it and the gamepad throws up an error that googling suggests the disc is buggered?!
