Ive got a yamaha 673 reciever at home that does 5.1 with bi amped front speakers, this is situated at the back of the house and is fully networked to stream movies through my rpi but can also do music on its own as its networked.
My front garden however is the feature garden and would be where I would host bbqs etc.
What id like to be able to do is pick up a set of powered 2.0 speakers and run them allowing me to have music at the front and the back of the house.
My receiver has zone2 rca outputs which apparently borrow from the extra channel/bi-amp channels.
If I was to just run a long shielded rca from these outputs through the house to a waterproof connector on the garage then wheel out the speakers with the bbq plug in and set the zone 2 on the amp would that work? I dont mind losing the bi-amp function while the additional sets are being used as it would just be music anyway. Then when the music stops and I want to chill out with a film and a hangover flip back to just 1 zone and have full surround sound
Failing that is there a good solution that will be better?
