I am going to be upgrading the RAM to 16GB plus installing 250GB SSD drive

The main thing is i really want to Upgrade the processor to a Intel Core i7 but i don't know what socket i need as the Zoostorm motherboard doesn't say this information

Should i buy another motherboard if so what would you recommend to fit the spec that i already have

This is my first build/upgrade so go easy on me

Weird, if it's one of those all in one pc vendors like Medion they tended to use foxconn branded boards because they were cheap. Beyond that I hope someone else can assist.

Check your BIOS supports the i7 before you buy, and if not, check if there is a new BIOS available from the vendor to support it.

(No point splashing £000 on a chip you can't use).

I've seen a few of these pc's, they use cheap and nasty cases/power supplies.

I'd look at a case/psu combo on OcUK and a motherboard to fit it.

So i have just checked the manual which i stupidly should have done before and the Socket for the Processor is LGA1150 And the Motherboard is a Gygabyte GA-H81M-DS2V

Will i need a new PSU or will the one i have be fine i also want to add a graphics card around £300

Ace-Rimmer i needed a PC Fast and cheap

Bledd Do i need a Micro Atx for everything to fit ?

Skyripper is there another way to do this ?

Is there another way to do which bit? You know the make and model of your motherboard, you know the type of chip you want to buy.

So you'lll need to know the BIOS version. If it doesnt say it while starting up, you can use something like CPU-Z will tell you what your current chip is, and details about your motherboard - including the current BIOS version.

When you know these three things, check on the Gigabyte website under Support if your current BIOS version supports the chip you want to put in.

If not, you need to find which version does, and then come back here to find out how to put it on your machine :)
