I recently bought the KUBE mini-ITX system sold here at OCUK, it's my first ever pre-built gaming PC.

It's all great except for the graphics card; the minimum fan speed is 1400rpm which is pretty obnoxious when just at the desktop. It runs at 25C so this fan speed really isn't needed.

I've tried lowering the fan speed using MSI Afterburner and Zotac Firestorm, both of which can't take it below 1400rpm (44%).

The GPU is a Zotac 1080ti Mini.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or am I stuck with a loud GPU?
If so, I may have to send it back.

It's a very small Ti and it's cooler is on par with the FE so not brilliant.

And no by the looks of it the fan runs all the time. Same with the other variations of the Zotac mini's. FE cards are the same.

Is their any reason you went with an ITX system? I would just grab a mid sized system with the likes of an MSI (gaming x), Asus (Strix), gigabyte (Aorus), EVGA (FTW3) 1080Ti with full size cooler, fan stop tech up to 60c and far better software.

The MSI/ASUS/EVGA cards are only currently about £50 more than the zotac mini.

I don't mind it being on all the time, it's just the the speed it's set at is silly. I've contacted Zotac but I doubt I'll have any luck.

I just fancied a much smaller system to be honest. I was planning on getting rid of my main system but I might keep it if I can't solve this.

Hmmm, we have a 1070 mini and it's apparently got Zotac's "Freeze" technology built in, which stops fans completely under a certain temp threshold.

Maybe the 1080Ti is just too much chip to ever run that low without active cooling, because AFAICT the 180 mini and 1080Ti mini don't have this.
