Just got back off hold went on the pc and after gaming the fans on my 980ti dont seem to stop or slow down.

they appear to go straight to 100% as soon as it hits 60C and even when ive finished gaming and back on desktop they sound like there going 100%. really really noisey.

GPU-z is reporting 0% fan speed and 0 RPM but ive got teh side off the case and there going full wack.

Tried re-installing drivers, uninstalled all msi afterburner still doing it.
Card is sat at 28C and there going mad to cool it.

Any ideas?

Not an uncommon thing for the AMP! to have an issue with a fan controller. It's usually spinning for a second then stopping for a few seconds, repeat.

RMA time for you I think.

Do you have MSI Afterburner installed?

If so, what does that display the fan speeds as, and have you tried using a custom curve in Afterburner?

No i uninstalled them all last night to see of it was them. Will try re-installing it in a bit and give it a quick test.

just tried msi faterburner and as soon as i try to setup a custom curve it goes straight to 100% speed.

I can change the speed in afterburner and it reports the speed im setting it to but the gpu itself doesnt change speed.

Will try it in my sons pc see what it does in there.

Think ive fixed it.

Fully uninstalled all msi afterburner, reseated cpu cooler ( have to take it off to get gpu out)

Re steated gpu in pcie-2 slot.

Seems to be going fine now fan speed goes up to 50% during firestrike and goes back to 0% on the desktop
