I negotiated a price for this card with @Gibbo who lowered the price for me on the website
On the 3rd now I am being told some one pressed buy just before me
If you grabbed this at the price I negotiated then I am asking a huge favour
Would you cancel the order as its unfair I was gazumped when I had negotiated to buy it
Now I am basically being told tough luck there's no more B grade cards
No offer to try and help me out which isn't what I expected from ocuk to be honest
I know I am asking a lot and probably got no hope
But that card was already pushing my budget to the limit and I can't afford a brand new one and a water block

I'm actually not sure this person would own up because they would never know they ordered before you. OcUK would never release the details of this either under GDPR.
Yeah I know I have very little hope
But feeling rather aggrieved right now
So asking is my only hope
They would know as it was the only one of them
So if bought it on the 3rd its same card

Surely, if you'd negotiated a price and had it accepted, it would have made more sense to ask you to phone up and pay?

Offer & Acceptance is the keystone of Contract Law - I'm really surprised they're not contacting whoever they allowed to purchase it to say "this isn't available, sorry", rather than fobbing you off with "You snooze, You lose".

That's really disappointing.
Yeah phone up would probably have made more sense
My card issuer did a fraud check on the purchase which delayed it as couldn't get through to them on the phone
I called ocuk explaining this but was told if someone else buys it in the meantime we can't do anything about it
I don't see why though I had explained my card would take a little while to accept the transaction
They could have cancelled the other purchaser
Pretty disappointed in ocuk right now to be totally honest
Usually I am praising them but not today
I only found out as I asked for a rough update on delivery
Otherwise would have been none the wiser

I have just checked the prices of these cards, are you mad? I really hope that the price was more of a 60% reduction! That card alone is going for more cost than what most people spend on a system.
Yeah I know it's very expensive
But after 4 weeks of self isolating and a lot of indecisiveness I said oh well you only live once
Wasn't 60% but was pretty hefty reduction

If this is exactly what happened they should buy another one from somewhere and honour the price.

Or a substitute card and a water block on it
So far it's basically been mistakes happen nothing we can do about it
Amend or cancel your order
Can't amend it as no more B grade cards never mind one with a block fitted
Haven't cancelled yet as I feel customer service haven't done anything for me

Yes money was taken
Were a couple of watercooling fittings on the order guess that's why it's still live
I even got a yes your order went through OK message from another ocuk staff member later who saw my explaining my card issuer was delaying the transaction to fraud check it so he wanted to make sure it was all ok

Possibly, but that's not the point here
They agreed to sell me it
I agreed to buy it
And I upheld my end of the agreement
By paying for it
If there was a mix up in their system
That's not my fault
As far as I see it they are in the wrong
And even if it means they take a loss on it
By giving me a new card with a block instead
They should swallow that loss
I am not usually one to bitch and whine
But if I believe I am in the right yeah
I can be very stubborn

Let's see if I can clarify it

I agreed to buy it at that price
That's a contract far as I am concerned
Where it went wrong is normally the ocuk staff would be working at ocuk not at home
So I would have phoned up and the guy on the phone would have shouted hey gibbo did you agree this sale?
Job done
Because they are working from home the price was altered instead on the website
I immediately pressed buy it now
But my card issuer decided to do a fraud check delaying things
I said so on the customer service thread
I also phoned ocuk explaining
I see no reason they couldn't cancel the other guys order
After fraud check ocuk took my payment
Emailed me your orders received
Even told me in customer service later it had all gone through ok
Only when I asked for a rough update on delivery was I told oh we sold it to someone else
Amend or cancel your order basically just tough luck
Not a oh its a mix up we will try to help you
No ocuk famous customer service
So yes I feel aggrieved
Far as I am concerned we made a contract and though delayed a short while my payment was taken completing my part of the contract
I therefore feel entitled to a card with a water block fitted at the agreed price
I understand ocuk would take a hit on that
But they are in the wrong in my opinion anyway
And can easily take the hit, I can't easily afford to take the hit of a discounted new card and the extra cost of a water block and having to fit the block myself too
I like ocuk, am usually praising their service, but in this instance don't feel I am getting that customer service
There are no more B grade ones or I would have went that route, the actual manufacturer of the card doesn't bother me just the prefitted waterblock
Sorry I am being stubborn about it but feel I am justified in doing so

Just to be pedantic, you weren't gazumped, as that would mean that the other person would have offered more.

It doesn't sound like the right way of doing business though, was there never a suggestion of processing the order over the phone so that it was a guaranteed purchase.

OCUK must have thousands of visitors that visit their site daily, and probably 95% of them don't even use the forum, so your chances are very slim of finding whomever purchased it.
Normally over the phone would be the way its done
Guy on the phone shouts hey gibbo you agree this
Job done but with staff working from home guess it got altered

Gibbo has offered a new card
At a discount
But it's got no waterblock
And will leave me 200 quid over what was agreed and fitting the block myself
Fair play to him as that's at least some sort of customer service unlike the other
Guy
But still not acceptable to me
I don't think I am being unreasonable here

Have in the past had the serial number accepted for warranty
As the person gave me the item had sadly died
Serial number proved it had only been made 3 years and had 5 year warranty
Though mileage will vary depending which company you deal with

Not quite there yet
Gibbo has been way more reasonable than the CS guy was
He's offered a new KFA2 card as no B grade cards at all probably the cheapest make but to be expected as its not B grade
But since the original card had a water block I am still trying to haggle for a B grade block since otherwise I will be around 130 over original budget if I buy a new block
He's left negotiations in plain sight
Which I have no issues with it shows him in a good light obviously
But shows I haven't been rude or impolite about it either
Few comments I am taking the ****
But don't think I am if B grade card was available would happily accept one long as I get a block
I haven't insisted on a brand new card like some seem to think
Fair play to Gibbo his response is just night and day compared to the other guy in CS
Hopefully we can resolve something today :)
