Hi,

Got a sugo SG05 with Zotac FG9300 and E8400, GPU is a 5850..

Got it all built and it seems to work ok with the stock PSU but was wondering if this can reach the 3.6ghz overclock, and if so what bios settings to change..

My last board had really obvious variables to change however these seem foreign..

Also be interested in finding out if this is a wise thing to do given the system?

The reason for asking is that the system is butter smooth at rendering but in games like Crysis Wars and Wolfenstein it's getting hamstrung by the CPU, stuttering when enemies appear, smoothing out once they're dead etc..

Thanks for any help..

I really doubt the stuttering is down to the CPU speed - I have an E8400 at 3.6GHz but even at stock with a 4870, Wolfenstein is butter smooth.

Sounds like when the GPU is loaded, it's pulling the PSU over, which can't supply enough power, and the 5850 is throttling down.

I'm surprised that you can play games with a 5850 in there without crashes. That thing has to be using more power than your PSU can handle surely ?

No as a 5850 takes less power thanks to its die shrink and so only has a power consumption of 250 at load, that's 60 less then a 4890. And at idle only a draw of 120, 40 less then a 4890. Also it supposedly runs cooler then a 4890.

This i think makes it the best GPU for the SGO5B as its the most powerful gpu that's able to fit in it, it draws less power then the previous most powerful, it also an integrated audio device that plays most formats making it good for a media player.
