Hey Guys,

I finally made up my mind and decided to build my own HTPC for downstairs.. Now the 1 thing that is very impotant for me is 1080p .mkv streaming and DTS sound I will be plugging into my Onkyo 608 and I want bitstream DTS and DD sound..

After doing a lot of research I purchased the Zotac H55-ITX WIFI mobo as apparently the HDMI out will play 1080p and full DTS MASTER and TRUE DD without any problems or loss of quality when paired with an i3 or i5..

I was thinking of going for the i3 530 will this be enough for my requirements.. OR shall I go for the i5 and if so which model .. I will purchase 4gb ram and also house this all in a Silverstone SG06

Please can I have some real feedback from you guys who actually have the same mobo or setup using DTS sound etc..

Many Thanks

Guys.. I am in some serious need of help.. I have finished building my HTPC Today but unable to correct sound from my intel i3 via HDMI .. Below are the Specs:

Silverstone SG06 Case

ZOTAC H55 ITX WIFI motherboard

Intel i3 530 Clarkdale

4GB Crucial DDR3 RAM

40GB Kingston SSD

Windows 7 Home Premium

After installing windows updates I went to the Zotac website and installed the intel HD graphics and HD sound for my motherboard.. I also installed the Realtek codecs.

I have the HDMI running from my motherboard into the Onkyo 608 Amp and then from the AMP to the TV..

The problem is my AMP keeps flickering "HDMI, PCM" on the display and its actually making a clicking noise !as if I just switched the Amp on.. " you here a little bit of the audio but then cuts ot and then coes back...?

When I hit display it says input 5.1 PCM and then Multi Channel or something like this but keeps flickering.. ?

Can anyone please advise me as what I need to do? Am I doing anything wrong ..? Is there a setting in the AMP or anything I need to do to windows to get everything working perfectly?

Thanks..

in my speaker menu it actually recognises the amp as tx-608 in windows the intel HD graphics set it as reccomended to a lower res but I set it to 1920 x 1080 .. I have my settings in the amp as Through.. I thought that when I play a .mkv file with DTS the amp would say DTS and play fine but it says PCM and then the HDMI and PCM flickers and cuts into the sound and the display says Multi channel..
