Dear All,

At first, all was fine as this is an office machine as well as for flight sims. Around the time I installed Windows Mixed Reality and Steam VR for my Reverb G2, the PC would crash around ten to twenty times a day with either the screen going black with no signal (the PC would still be powered) or crashing abruptly and rebooting. Suffice to say, I could not use it.
I therefore returned to my laptop while the PC was sent to OC for an investigation, and all was deemed perfectly fine with no faults. When returned, the same symptoms appeared and I removed all USB items from the motherboard with only the mouse and keyboard connected (also tried other USB ports such as the front of the tower). The PC continued to crash and reboots or I get the black screen of death with no power (PC still humming away).
I ordered a PCI card for the G2 but the constant crashes made me realise that it was best to see what was happening. A friend has pretty much the same system as me and recommended I get the card as the G2 would go to a black screen more often than not.
I cannot play flight sims as the PC crashes, and I do not really want to return it to OC as I am very happy with it when it works. The VR software has now been deleted but the crashes continue and after three crashes within the hour, it was placed back in its box, and I was back to the laptop. I do wonder if the VR is still there in the background and causing the crashes.
I also ordered a Predator X38 monitor from OC and then tested it with the laptop: not one crash all day, so I am fairly certain that there is something wrong with the PC, be it conflicting downloads, faulty drivers, motherboard and/or graphics card. The laptop is connected to USBs as well as a powered hub with no issues.
I really do not want to return the PC for repair once more or ask for a refund. I would have hoped communication was more fluid, however, as the tower alone cost just under £4,000.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I call OC once more? Would you advise for a refund? Anyone else had issues with the ZT Zotac GeForce RTX 4080 AMP Extreme? Would you recommend a fresh Win 11 install or perhaps go back to Win 10? Would the powered hub be an issue?
Sadly, the tower is pretty much useless if I cannot use certain USBs for the keyboard, mouse, etc.
Also, very tempted to return the G2 and go back to Track IR.
With very best wishes,
Jay
