Hello,

I have been sampling different Vodka's off late and have to say Zubrowka is great, its taste is so different to the usual run off the mill Vodka's almost to the point where I would class it as a different drink.

Can anyone recommend any more? I have been advised to try Ketel One and Grey Goose next.

Dave.

Every time I drink Zubrowka I wake up in a strange place with absolutely no recollection of the preceeding night. It's crazy stuff but rather gorgeous, especially when mixed with apple juice.

I am honestly astounded by it, its so easy to drink. Is mixing it with apple juice something the Polish do? Its not something I would think of doing normally.

I dunno but the 'Spoons in Windsor used to sell it as a "Frisky Bison" by the pitcher. A few pitchers of that stuff would always guarantee a great night out.

They still sell it down here, not sure about pitchers though... Might have to try some if I am near a 'Spoons any time soon.

Vodka is done on its own, on rocks or with fresh juices/pieces of fruit or maybe in a cocktail (hmm).

The "add to coke and lemonade" thing is more than likely a ridiculous British thing done so cheap stuff can be served quicker and downed sooner.

Proper vodka doesn't need to be butchered like that and taste's lovely. Honestly, said it before - get yourself a bottle of grey goose

Do you know anywhere that sells it apart from Mail Ordering it? If I need to mail order it I may aswell get some other stuff. I also like Havana Club 7 y/o Rum.

Hmmm..thinking about bars in Liverpool the only places I know are non-chain places. Spoons, Lloyds etc I don't think are refined enough (which makes the fact that they can be expensive for spirits weird).

Grey Goose is hideously overpriced for what it is, although it is very nice vodka.

Ketel One is probably my favourite vodka, although I'm still waiting for the moment of drunken monetary stupidity that results in the ordering of a bottle of Ultimat off the web.

its not bad stuff, its not smirnoff penka or russian standard silver select like, i want a bottle of ketel one myself need to find somewhere selling one for a reasonable price.

My polish mate gave me a bottle of the stuff... mixed with apple juice it tastes like apple pie!! :D

I ran out of apple juice on a particulary heavy night and so used magners instead, needless to say most of the night is a blur...
