Is anyone using a DGTeam flashed DG834GT connected to Bethere?
I've just picked a Sky DG834GT, flashed it with DG834GT_V1.03.22_DGTeam_1018_eng_adsldrv023o.img

For some reason I cannot load any webpages. The router seems to be connected to the internet as I can see sync speeds up/down which were similar to that of the BeBox.

I set the Netgear up using settings from here:
http://beusergroup.co.uk/technotes/index.php/DG834

As MAC address, I used the address from the sticker of the BeBox. I have a dynamic IP.

Any ideas please?

Could you try, inside the admin pages:
Maintenance > Diagnostics > Ping an IP address > 173.194.41.133 (it's one of Google's IPs)

Should check whether the problems at the router end on your PC end.

Infact, if you go the main logon page too do you actually get assigned an IP from your ISP? Check Security > Logs too as it might give you some connection error details.

I can see that I've been given an IP address from the main page.

Looks like your DNS config is wrong try setting DNS to auto get from ISP and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks. Tried that and still get the same problem.

Follow the setup guide here;

http://beusergroup.co.uk/technotes/index.php?title=Routers_Netgear

Did you also just flash straight from the sky firmware to the DGteam one? as I seem to remember that there is more to the debranding process than that

See here for more info

http://www.kitz.co.uk/routers/skyDG834GT_flash.htm

Thanks. I did go straight to DGTeam from Sky but I've just reflashed using the latest Netgear firmware and reflashed the DGTeam afterwards. Unfortunately no difference.

Rather than just flashing it, did you use the recovery tool - you probably need a x32 machine for this?

has your router been allocated an IP that belongs to BE*?

From reading the BE* forums - it appears that it can take 40 mins for an IP to be allocated to a new router for customers with a dynamic address (on static here - so no idea if that is true)

I did flash using the recovery tool on my 32bit XP machine. I didn't use the router page upgrade wizard. Not sure how to check that the IP belongs to BE!

So do you suggest leaving it plugged in and waiting for 40 minutes?

I think they turned off mac filtering a while ago.

Might even be worth taking it out and seeing if it makes a difference.

I'd also use either google's or the opendns dns servers, as Be*'s ones aren't the best

I just tried ringing Bethere customer support. Didn't think that they would help with a non-Be router but they did. They ran through a few settings and made a couple of changes at their end (don't know what they did) but it's all up and running now. Thanks to you and everyone else that helped :)

BE* technical support is right up there with folks like Zen in terms of their helpfulness (imho of course)

Definitely. I've phoned them a few times over the last few years and they've been excellent each and every time. Great thing is that they are not typical 1st line support script readers, they are very knowledgable and better still, they are on call 24 hours a day.
