It arrived this morning and all installed! :) Packaging is AWESOME. Quaility & build is pretty slick as well.

Now, about going crossfire.. I might have a problem...

It will fit but its gonna sit right against the top card :/ Temps might suffer for the top card if i go that route. Anyway gonna run some games on my resolution see if my needs warrant it first then i'll decide :)

The only problem I have at the moment is the Lightning logo LED is flashing like a disco light at all 3 different colours, anyone with this problem with a fix?
Also, if i restart or turn my monitor off or on I get no video output? I can only fix this if i physically press the reset button, is this software/driver related? didnt happen on my old nvidia card :S

If the Lightning logo is flashing it is probably because you don't have the extra 6 pin PCI-e connector hooked up. Mine does the same if I don't have all 3 connectors plugged in.

Should add it makes no difference unless you want to push the overclock further

I know it goes red if i have all 3pci power connected, didnt know it would flicker like a 90s disco light everytime i move my mouse. Ill probably end up connecting that 3rd pcie cable if theres no way round it. Annoying as hell. Thanks for that info tho.

Gaming wise im hitting close to 60 if i tune down some settings on da:i. Rome even on high is still 30-40 fps mark. Considering a2nd lightning but worried about temps. Does anyone know if theres any difference if i move it to the bottom pcie lane in the z87 sabertooth board? I think its pcie2 4x or something like that

I have my 2nd one coming tomorrow, and i wanted to know the same question about using the 2nd in the pcie 4x slow, and how much performance it would lose. would it work out 8x 4x? :D

I tried a second one in the same slot you are looking at. The temps ramped up fast! Couldn't live with the noise of the fans on the top card so have ordered water blocks and going to try full water Cooling.

Top card was hitting about 75-80 very quickly. I've got a corsair 450d case

Yep, your fault too. :D

Will definitely keep these this time, i really regret sending both back last time when i should have at least kept one. This time I'll house them elsewhere or keep them as spares if they don't clock well. To be fair my three other reference 290X cards are poor clockers, so these must be better than that.

This will take me up to 11 290X/P cards now.

Cards arrived?

Cards arrived?

Yep, all working ok too. Lovely cards!

Sadly neither appears to be much faster than my best reference 290X despite both clocking higher with voltage, however I've not had a whole lot of time to experiment with them. I guess this just reinforces how solid a reference 290X pcb/card is.

I've put one in my girlfriends all amd machine and it's sitting happily at +150mv 1200/1500 on auto fan with temps below 80c.

The other one will live under my desk with my 4x290X 4GB reference cards and will come out for the odd torture test/benchmark.

For 24/7 clocks that's plenty. What's the max you can push the memory to without problems?

Not entirely sure yet, but it seems to be around 1600-1650. At 1200/1500 (+125mv core +25mv mem) both the lightnings were scoring 100 points less graphics score in Firestrike than my 290X Hynix reference card at +125v.

I did get both cards up to 1300 core though, one of them with very few artifacts but scores were not as high as they should have been. For example i was 8 fps off my best Thief benchmark score with my ref 290X.

EDIT

Which bios did you use and did you use the extra 6 pin? I used LN2 and the 6 pin for testing.
