Should do more than 1600 on the mems, still decent though
I actually still haven't done a thorough overclock session yet due to work but read that gains after 6000 start to get a little small, Although happy to be educated on the matter
Last time I had a CPU at 3.20GHZ was the C2D days

Other than the odd benchmark, I run mine at stock. Plenty for what I use it for.

I'll clock it more but when you live in the Med cooling can become an issue

Cooling shouldn't be a problem with the Lightning. Probably one of the best stock Air Coolers available.

Any reason you picked the 8gb card? There are plenty of great 4GB cards to choose from like the 290X MSI Lightning at 260 pounds.
I'd say not worth it unless you buy two or more.

I am so out of touch with PC stuff now.
I currently run a 680... I am not looking to set the world on fire, I game at 1080P.
Stick with a 4GB 290X at that resolution, this will be plenty faster than other similarly priced solutions.

Without me doing loads of research, how would the lightning fare against a gig 970 G1?
I suppose the LE would be louder but how loud? I used to have a sapphire 7950 which at full load could be quite loud. Hard to answer I suppose.

The lightning card was £260. Seems the price has increased......
