Replaced by 12V-2×6 in ATX 3.1

CEM 5.1 specs are out. You won't need a new PSU if your PSU didn't use a 12+4 on PSU side. So Corsair are fine.

I wouldn't want to be holding a 4090 with a 12VHPWR right now assuming Nvidia will use the new socket..

You shouldn't need a new PSU if it's 12VHPWR on the psu side either as the 12V-2x6 is specific to the female connector GPU side and not the cable and in most cases will be backwards compatible.

Was also lucky enough to get the 4090FE after the shorter sense pin update.

Did originally buy a Seasonic 12VHPWR cable but then it turned out they were replacing it with a new standard so I returned it, just using the one that came with the card for now.

Seems OK though, not in a rush to update it.

If you bought after a certain date there is a good chance it's the newer sense pins as well, after or around my post above so March 2024.

This is for 4090 FE. Other manufacturers may differ.

I bought my 4090FE at the end of July 23 and it has the shorter pins.
There were already reports of the FE with smaller pins before I ordered mine
