Alienware have announced two new QD-OLED monitors

* AW2725DF is a 27inch 1440p 360hz flat panel

* AW3225QF is a 32 inch 4k 240hz curved panel

Both monitors launch January 2024, just two months from now!

Alienware says both monitors will also come with the 3 year burn in warranty as the existing aw34 monitors do.

It's also worth mentioning that some companies have already announced 1440p 360hz and 4k 240hz w-OLED monitors using panels from LG but all of those are only expected to be available at the end of 2024, where as Alienware and Samsung looks to be beating them to market by launching QD-OLEDs with the same specs in January, almost a year ahead of LG

We'd expect other brands to follow but as was the case with the aw34, Alienware/Dell seems to be getting preferential partner status from Samsung and will be first to market with these brand new second gen QD-OLED panels. These new monitors won't just be higher refresh rates but also get brighter. I suspect quantities may be limited at launch given how much earlier these are coming to market compared to LG's panels

And on a side note, we can see why OLED monitors are now being pushed so hard by manufacturers, the growth rates are something not seen in the monitor market for a long time and currently OLED monitor sales are running with 300% growth rates and are expected to still be 200% growth through all of 2024

iirc LG are bringing a 39in 5120x2160p panel to market (165Hz). Might be an option...

Nice, though I think 3840x1600 is a brilliant resolution to use at the moment, sweet spot before "4K". I'd have to sell a kidney and buy whatever Leather Jacket Man wants to peddle in the next generation to run anything at 5120x2160 remotely well. Though it's still 21:9, so could drop it.

hopefully the 4k32" is good, would have liked a flat screen but if the curve is too bad. it do. the old 3007 could do with being replaced

The curve doesn't look to bad it's probably 1800R/1900R curve which is subtle like on there pervious screens and is fine. Now if they did a Samsung and it was 1000R then nope.

Nice. Had I not already got the DWF, would definitely be aiming for the new 32-4K (AW3225QF). Can't really see myself changing or grabbing another one, unless if there's obvious improvements that I would like to have (besides the resolution that is). But when it comes out, hope users get to enjoy what we DW and DWF users have been enjoying. :)

Would imagine even 4090 will struggle hitting 360fps in most games.don't see the point going for 360hz

Easy to hit those frame rates in competitive titles. The 1440p one will be a big hit with people who want to play somewhat competitively without massively sacrificing on IQ. There’s a bit of a compromise if you aren’t a pro player and don’t need a 500hz 1080p TN panel to make sure you’re getting every advantage possible.

Scotland. The hairy bit.
Was about to go for an LG C3 42" when I had a pause to think about the 32" 4k QD...

42>32, I just think I'll feel more immersed in things (but that's guesswork and research assumptions) also watching movies hubba hubba
QDOLED>WOLED seems right, but tbh both are a huge leap on my current screens
240Hz>120Hz but will I notice much difference.... No competitive gaming here.

Stuff to ponder!

Depends on the games, recently 1300fps was reached in counter strike 2 with an overclocked 4090 and overclocked 14900k
