I do wonder if the same attention to detail has been made with the actual driving as much as the graphical assets.

EDIT:

I notice all tracks are laser scanned so that would bode well.

Also, what with this being modular like the rFactor series, I think this is going to be pitched to the hardcore Sim crowd.

I think this sim will be as good as, If not better than IRacing in terms of Physics. The guys behind this are the same ones who were behind Netkar pro and if you have played netkar you will realise just how good the physics are and this will give you some indication as to how good Asseto Corsa should be.

I for one can not wait until this is out as I think this will be the top racing sim out there and the one I shall be spending most of my time with, At the moment it seems to tick most of the boxes for me, The only exception is the support from the community, Netkar seemed to suffer from a lack of support online, even though those who played it always raved about it.

Netkar pro was/is very good from a physics standpoint, tyre model was noticeably ahead of iRacing when I last played it but since then iRacing have released the NTM and refined/improved it a couple of times to the point where I don't think there's much in it now between the two, obviously no idea how good an improvement has been made between Netkar and Assetto Corsa

But the online stuff did let it down quite badly, partially the lack of a coherent system (which is where iRacing shines, and is also alone as yet) but also from what I remember the netcode was pretty dire (iRacing's isn't perfect but does appear to be one of, if not the, best out there), so that's where they need to make big strides over Netkar really, and I hope they do as competition is always a good thing :)

I don't understand how anyone can drive with the internal cam of racing games...the screen is far too crowded its nothing like sitting in a car.

Give me bonnet cam footage or heck bumper cam.

After almost 10 years of playing sims now it just feels right, fair bit of that time was doing open wheel cars which are perfect on internal cam, tintops are obviously more cluttered but they're fine...

It's actually one of my biggest issues with non-sims now, it often seems like the internal cam is neglected a bit so either not present at all or just looks awful/'wrong', which makes sense as (stereotyping just a tiny bit) most non-sim players appear to prefer other views, I know I did back in the days of the original Gran Turismo :p
