Yeah I wouldn't use alcohol on acrylic
It might depend what strength the alcohol is
And how thick the acrylic is
But probably not a good idea even if doesn't go brittle
It may go cloudy
I use plastic polish for acrylic if just a damp cloth doesn't work
Not sure what's in the plastic polish
May well be kaolin if not used for a while it settles
And need to squeeze the bottle

Over the hills and.......
If its been used with coloured coolant
Then yeah may be a good idea
Neglected mine due to health issues
And the red coolant did clog the cpu block microfine
Though if they're clogged
You should get an idea by the flow rate

If you don't know what block it is
And the O ring does need replacing
You might have to make your own
Or get creative with some instant gasket or similar
Somewhere that specialise in hydraulics and bearings will have a ring you suit your block.

I find this hard to believe.... When i cleaned my block it was not a ring.

If a ring yeah sure find something that will fit but not a wierd polygon shape

The blocks I've used have always had a specifically shaped gasket yeah. I refer to them as rings out of habit.
