having issues keeping it from throttling under load when benchmarking with cinebench 2024 with PL removed, im hitting 105.
ive got 2 240mm AIO, both decent but neither can keep it cool. a DeepCool LE520 and Arctic Liquid Freezer II.

could getting one of those Thermalright mounting frames maybe help, or does the 12900k need a minimum 280 aio

Contact frame if my first go to, it made a huge difference to my temps even on my 12700k on a custom loop. Use to sit in the mid 60's, now it sits in the mid to low 50's.

Your 240 aio should be more than enough tbh unless your motherboard is doing something weird and not enforcing limits and allowing more voltage to be pumped through.

What do you do with the PC? Most of the recent i7/i9 CPUs will reach silly temps in Cinebench when they're power unlimited even with great cooling.

frame arrived earlier, somehow it was that quick, have installed temps have dropped by 10 degrees. still throttling a little at 95 degrees , but not as bad, :)

What is the system to be used for on a day to day basis?

Bench is good for feasting if stable. But the load is 90% of the time and unreal load.

If you game than game. And monitor. Also drop the PL limits to about 10% over what the max seen load is when you test.

Also defo under volt. At a minimum 0.0500v but most can do 0.1v
