Current system:
5800x3d
Vega64
Riotoro enigma G2 650W

Want to upgrade to a 7800xt. I see people recommending 700/750W+ for it, but if my current PSU handles the Vega 64, which apparently draws more power than a 7800xt, then it should be fine right? Or am I missing something

Cheers

Yes, though cards can have different characteristics about how/when they draw that power and what their peaks are.

I'm not familiar with the make of your PSU but if you have confidence in it then you should be fine. I've just bought a nitro 7800xt and I'm using a 10yr old superflower leadex gold 650w with no issues so far.

Also factor in that most gfx perform better with undervolting, ive taken a 3080 down from 400w to 250-275 and runs perfectly fine on a 650w psu, the quality of the psu matters ofc.
