Hi,

I've got an athlon XP-M and while the core and pins are intact, the pcb has had a few chunks taken out of it with a screwdriver. The only damage i can see is to the VERY outer part, theres a single 'line' of print that goes around the whole perimeter and this has a few gaps in it now.

What are the chances of it working?

I'm asking this question as I have no means of testing the CPU for now.

Cheers

Well thats how my 2800+ Barton finaly gave in, not because I put 1.9 Volts through it to get 2.5GHz but because i took a chunk out of the brown surface of the cpu, so I'd say ull need to give it a try!!

Wish u luck! :)

An XP2800 Barton CPU I used to have had a chip on the core and it ran 100% fine, but I guess each CPU will be different and theres no way of knowing until you try.

I say give it a go, you've got nothing to lose.
