Hi guys,

I've just put together a new budget build and the computer won't power on. There are no lights on my brand new Superflower PSU either so could it be that?

Is there anything else I should check first?

Thanks :)

Is it just dead? There's the obvious stuff like switch on the back of the PSU, check the plug socket itself and check the fuse in the plug.

Got another PSU you can try with the components?

I have another brand new superflower PSU as I'm building two computers. Just wanted to see if there were any easier options first.

I am going to check the fuse as the PSU input is 6A but the plugs are 5A. Not sure whether that would make a difference or not? Unfortunately the supplied cable is european.

Thanks for the response.

easiest way to test the psu is to have just a fan plugged into a molex and then short the green and black wires on the ATX connector with a paperclip. Fan spins, psu is not dead dead (but doesn't rule out voltage drops etc that could cause instability), fan doesn't spin, psu is deffo dead.
