We're about to lift the carpet and put down some wooden flooring (the laminated stuff as opposed to real wood) with fibreboard underlay.
At the moment the room is carpeted - below the carpet there are 'tiles' and below them is bitumen.
Ideally we'd like to lift the tiles (many broke as we lifted the carpet) exposing the bitumen but will this effect the fibreboard at all or will the fibreboard happily sit on the bitumen?
