Fans coming on for a second or two when lid shut.

It's a Lenovo legion 5 slim.

If I shut the lid to put it to sleep every so often the fans will fire up for a second or two. Anyone know why it's doing this or how to stop it?

Windows sleep functionality is garbage. macOS is great at it and Linux also does a decent job, but Windows has dodgy power state management in sleep so some stuff is always running, which is why the fans come on.

So there's no way to stop it apart from shutting down every time?

Yea, or possibly hibernating as that’s like a save state. There may be tools to improve the sleep function, but probably also down to how the manufacturer has tuned the laptop.
