I was just looking at wheels for hardwood floor as might move desk, and if it was possible to use soft wheels without a mat? I came across fixed feet, anybody tried these? My mat/ a bit of ply (on the carpet) just shifts all the time and it's annoying. Whilst that's fixable, i wondered how plausible or annoying not using wheels altogether is.

A chair is much more usable with wheels, keep them if you can. It's also better for your back to have wheels as it allows shifting position more easily / greater mobility.

I forgot i made this thread. I've not bought any feet to try still, dunno if i will. I should buy a mat as the ply is a bit poo (was going to stick carpet tiles onto it). I've got the mesh but it didn't help with the ply sadly.
