Currently playing Dragons Dogma 2, it is a real love hate thing, I love the gameplay and exploring, looks amazing in places too but all the quests and main story seems really dull, it is hard to explain but I feel like I just want to explore and not even bother about the story, Level 30 and just blitzing enemies. It is a weird though but I miss the Elden Ring/Souls-like difficulty, this all just seems too easy. Might have to replay Elden Ring and get ready the the DLC :p

Edit: Going to try the Stella Blade demo tonight :)

I kind of feel the same, except the combat isn't really that great, so yeah I also wish it had more challenge/strategy to it.

The level design is really good though, I can tell they put a lot of effort into thinking how the map connects, and to have hidden things to explore all over the place if that is your kind of thing.

I think the game is at it's best when your objective is somewhere where you've not been, and you're just heading out and hoping for the best.

Interested to hear how you find it.

Don't skip the challenge boss which it unlocks at the end btw, I think it showcases the later game difficulty and movesets well.

I'm very hyped for this one and am looking forward to playing this on release!

Started Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart for the second time. I did briefly play when it first came on PS+ but second time around it makes so much more sense after playing the PS3 games. There's much more understanding of the whole setting like the characters, creatures (those giant dinosaur things, for example), the baddies and the Dimensionator!

I started playing rift apart this morning having no knowledge of the games at all.

It is confusing and a crazy ride but i have to say it is the most impressive game of its type I have ever seen.

Yep it's really good visually, I am not hugely into the story/characters as it feels like the target audience is for someone much younger than me, but it's still fun to play and the platforming is good too.

Planet Zoo (series x)

Good fun, just doing the tutorials so far, but can already see it has tons of depth to it. Relaxing and fun. Time flies when playing this though!

Destiny 2 on Series X.

Picked this up again after quite the hiatus following the relatively "meh" Lightfall campaign and seasonal content. Took me a while to get my head around all the things (Bungie really need to learn less is more) but I am actually enjoying what I am playing.

Does help that this is all being played in glorious HDR (with VRR) on the SN90C.

Unusually got a load of spare time today. Fired up dead island 2 I downloaded from game pass a while ago. Had an hour or so on it, got established the base at the mansion. Meh, probably won’t bother much more with it. It’s ok. Had it preordered at launch but reviews put me off and glad I didn’t buy it.
Jumped back into RDR2. Desperate to finish it. Picked it up day one, even took the day off work at the time. Struggling with it. I’m a rockstar fanboy. RDR1 is probably my favourite game of all time. Have hundreds of hours on GTAV & online, actually bought that 5 times now for various consoles. Imo PS5 remake of TLOU1 is the best I’ve ever seen graphically in a linear game but RDR2 on the OLED on the series X blows everything away and hasn’t been topped all these years later. I just robbed the riverboat casino and messing around with side missions in Saint Denis but it’s hard work, so slow. Controls are cumbersome, keep running people over with my horse on the streets. It’s just never clicked with me. I will finish it one day but it’s a slog. In RDR1 I covered every inch of the map and but for the online stuff (which was a shambles) I 100% it. I feel as soon as I’m done with the story here I’ll never go back, not done the hunts, the robberies or burglaries. I just want it over with.
It’s hard to quantify what I dont like about it but that riverboat mission I think illustrates it perfectly. Took about half an hour, it’s basically an interactive movie. Follow him here, very slowly, cutscene, follow this guy there, very slowly, cutscene. Shot the pit boss in the face. Follow someone very very slowly. Cutscene, handed a rifle, shoot half a dozen guys who have stormtrooper aim in the head from cover, follow someone else. Jump in the river. Cutscene. Find a stranger in Saint Denis immediately after, cutscene. Walk to shop. Check every drawer. Threaten shopkeeper, rescue slaves / hostages. Walk back. More cutscene. 45 minutes down and barely pressed a button.

Fallout 4

After playing it to the death back in the day I thought I'd jump in. Also the show is partly to blame!

The game is still a lot of fun, great VATS combat along with a ton of weapons. I am struggling a bit with ammo however at Lv14. There are a lot of messed up ghost textures on various surfaces such as roads etc so I think I'll hold off now until that update kicks in.
