We are taking the kids to Billund in Denmark over half term and wondered if anyone had been and could recommend anywhere to visit?

We are already going to the Legoland resort and some kind of big waterpark but does anyone have any other suggestions as to places we should visit (2 kids, aged 10 and 12)

Also, we've been told that some restaurants etc only accept Danish credit cards and so we've been advised to take cash - can anyone confirm whether this is their experience also? (seems very odd in today's global society!)

Thanks....

We went in 2022 with our daughter, who was 5 at the time. Billund is really quite a small place and pretty much exists for Legoland and the Lego house.

Aquadome / Lalandia is the water park. It's ok but can get hugely busy in school holidays. There's also a few restaurants there and bowling / arcade games, which may interest the kids.

Apart from that, there's a place called WOW Park to the south of Billund. It's an outdoor adventure park and has treetop climbing and various outdoor activities.

The pretty much sums up Billund. The town centre has a few restaurants and a Lidl.l near the Lego house.

There's a free shuttle bus from the airport that runs most of the day and does a loop from airport > Legoland > Aquapark > Lego house / town > Wow Park.

We never found any issues paying for anything with UK credit or debit cards. The only issue was how expensive everything in Denmark is! £10 bottles of beer are not uncommon.

We really enjoyed Billund, especially Legoland. There's enough there for 2 consecutive days of you're happy to go on the rides a few times each.

We did 2 night / 2 and a half days in Billund and I would say that's enough, verging on too long.
