Poor fella TBH, I don't like the look of the new Bond, he might be fantastic, but I'm not so keen and secondly Bond in a mondeo is actaully how a real sky would travel...
Anyhow, I think the Bond thing is going the same route as Britain anyhow.. Down the pan.

Well its not even the best Diesel for a start, theres the ST TDCI which is a 155bhp Diesel which would outdo the 115bhp one you talk about easy, and I think theres a 130bhp TDCI Mondeo as well?
As for any of them beating tha ST220, well if the driver is lazy enough not to drop a cog or two, then they might....

What are the figures for the 130 Tdci? I'd expect being the same engine but in a different (higher) state of tune, and most likely the same gearing etc as the 115 that it'd be quicker.

How can those be considered accurate - what is it about the less powerful, less torquey 2l TDI versus, say, the ST TDCI that makes it quicker? I just don't believe those figures are accurate, sorry

Both the 2.2 TDCI and 3.0V6 have 6 speed gearboxes, meaning those times are in 5th gear so you can't compare with the 2.0 diesel.
In fact, looking at the Mondeo brochure I have in front of me now the 2.0 diesel (115 PS) with a 6 speed box is quoted as 17 seconds 31-62 in 5th gear

I am just trying to see how you can possibly for one moment think that the 115bhp mk3 mondeo is going accelerate faster than the same car but with an engine producing almost twice as much power? No matter what a brochure says or how misleading the figures may be its simple physics

Is Casino Royale not a sort of prequel, showing Bond's earlier career ? If so, that may explain the use of a Mondeo ? I am trying not to look for further information as I am a bit of a Bond fan and don't really want to see any spoilers.
