Looking for help recreating a logo in Photoshop

Hi Folks,

Been a long time since I posted on the forums, good to see they are still going strong. I am looking for a bit of help with an old DJ logo I have that I want to re create. I created this years ago and lost the original PSD file and would like to create one from scratch including my full name rather than just the initials.

Could anyone point me in the right direction of how to achieve this look in PS?

Do you have access to Adobe Illustrator? This is industry standard for logos. You can then create it as a vector graphic which means it's much easier to resize for future uses.

Not at the moment no, I would just like to design it in Photoshop for now and will look at a vector version later on. I have just been out of the loop with Photoshop and tutorials, not touched it in well over 7 years and not Sure where to find a tutorial to get text effect and figure the font.
