In fairness to Raikonnen, it has seemed for quite a while that he was fed up and/or bored in F1. I suspect that being a F1 driver must be a fairly lonely life in a fishbowl world. At least in WRC, he will have other Finnish drivers about the place and I get the impression that whilst intensely competitive, it is generally a more friendly environment....
Would you say the WRC was the same as F1 though, in terms of prestige and dedication? No doubt it's up there with the biggest forms of motorsport, of course, but I don't think it has a big a following as F1, nor would I describe the cars as being as fast or on the cutting edge of technology. Plus, you don't overtake anything, your only competitor on the route is time.
