I would move away from comparing 3D and VR as they are completely different experiences imho and VR is a massive step up from it.
I'm a DK2 owner and having seen the reviews I'm happy I didn't sell and get a CV1, as there doesn't appear to be a big step up in the tech. The resolution is still an issue but its VR is amazing and for example I wouldn't play elite using a monitor again.
