psu blew and i'm wondering why...it was an OCZ 650

i connected a new Kingston SSD and a Western Digital to another power cable, i was hoping to copy my other Hard drive over onto these two SSDs

the other hard drive is a Seagate hybrid, that was on an existing power cable.

so basically all i did was to connect 2 new hard drives on another power cable.

but the power cable had to come from a ``be quiet 1000w`` and the connection was slightly different and i'm not sure if the plug was the right way around.

the rig started and shut down immediately ...............psu dead

If you mean you use the different manufacturers modular connections and force it in, you probably shorted something.

You need to use the modular cable that come with the PSU.

yes, it was a force fit before the rig was turned on.......the OCZ cables went missing a year ago, so i had to use a spare BE-QUIET power cable

Then you probably caused it to blow up. Making connections fit that are physically different by forcing them to fit is never a good idea, especially if they are not actually for the psu. Hopefullu it didn't take anything with it when it blew.
