Before placing the order plusnet advised I would need a MAC code to complete the transfer.
When I placed the order plusnet text me asking for the MAC code.

Rung BT last night and they insisted they can't 'generate' a MAC code as it was a straight fibre transfer.

Rung Plusnet just now and they insisted they can't complete the transfer without the MAC code!!

wtf - going in circles here :(

easy way - report this to ofcom

Question is, would I still be getting these speeds later on?

If you were talking about peak hours in this evening between 7pm and 11pm - surely it should be ok. I had no issues in the last two weeks now as BT had finally resolved core network congestion issues fixed. You should expect the same speed what u are getting now.

I am now a Plusnet customer. Migration happened overnight. Quickly changed details on router this morning and opted to pay the £5 one off charge for a static IP. Will do some thorough testing tonight when i get home.

Its only less than a day, so will give it chance to settle, hopefully my DL will go up to what it was... ;)

Oh and heres my PN BQM...

My Broadband Ping

I am afraid that PN is always less than BT/ADSL24/Sky on throughput speed probably around 1 Megabit off.

I got the offer deal matched vodafone with Plusnet @ £27 a month for 18 months but they say it will £26 until 5th June because of broadband price increase by £1 extra. So, Plusnet giving me 18 months special discount £12.98 off every months until the contract has expiry next year.

Add on my referral discounts is a bonus too. :)

Mine is 18 months Unlimited Fibre Extra (£7.01) with line only £18.99. I wouldn't bother with line rental saver because it not much saving for 12 months but if PN do have 18 months line rental saver, I would take it because it will do the same contract eg 18 months.

20-29 Mbps £6.99
30-40 Mbps £9.99
41-55 Mbps £13.99
56-80 Mbps £19.99

My transfer to Plusnet was completed today. Woke up to an email saying my phone line is working. No internet. Received an email in work at 7:45 saying my broadband is working. Saving around £288 quid a year by switching.

Have lost around 10mb in speed but i take it thats the DLM getting reset? 41mb instead of 50ish from BT

Maybe DLM disabled G. INP check if it was G. INP enabled if it does then you should get 50Mbps but if it was non G. INP then you getting less sync rate at 41Mbps

What is your full stats before at BT and after with PN. Want to see why it getting less sync rate between these two ISPs. In most case when switching over to PN from BT then it will be DLM resetted and sometimes DLM taking G. INP off and the line need to be stable for couple of days before DLM will applied G. INP back on.
