Recommend a new/second hand av receiver. (paired with monitor monitor rx6)

Due to my previous ancient av receiver no longer with us Im in the look out for a replacement.

I have no idea oif you can get any that are "smart" or if this is one of those things where it's better not to due to support!

Would rather not spend a lot. I remember back when I got my yamaha certain speaker + amp combos were recco. But not sure I'm that fussy anymore.

In end I'm going for a X2700h

Apparently the S series are poop.

Also.
Apparently 2700h is no better really than 1700h (worse in some ways).
But the 2700 is actually cheaper than 1700 so decision made.

Depends on the features/channels you need I guess.

I got a NR1200 from Marantz which I'm very happy with but it's 2 channels only. I don't need any more but do need the Spotify connect, earc, hdmi switching etc.

I'm wondering if my old yamaha was failing over time.

The denon sounds so much more "surround".

I mac it has 14 year newer tech so can be expected but it does sound much richer.

Watched dune had had to bump the centre channel right up because of its ridiculous dialogue track
