Ahhh bugger.
By far my favourite two celebrity chefs, not just saying that given this news, I always found their cooking pretty down to earth.

That US special they did was the first time I had watched any of their stuff and I was instantly hooked

Really sad, always showed enthusiasm for the food, had a great chemistry with Si and has contributed over the years to defining the landscape of modern British culinary tastes. I just loved how him and Si referred to themselves as merely cooks as they didn't qualify as Chefs.
I hope Si can carry on in some capacity because I imagine he is in bits.

One of the few things I have been motivated to make from watching *any* episode of *any* cooking show was their recipe for Bigos stew, or Hunters stew as it is also known, I think from one of their Polish/Eastern European adventures. Made it multiple times since, it is awesome. Great in either a pressure or slow cooker.

This is the national dish of Poland. It can be made with any kind of meat from pork to rabbit or venison, but should always have spicy Polish sausage. Like most stews this tastes better left overnight and reheated the next day making it a great dish to prepare in advance for an evening with friends.
