yes, your 100% correct. It was a intel graphics driver that was the problem and not a chipset driver.

Be interested to know if you are experiencing the same problem as I was (gpu and cpu spiking on battery) my laptop(s) performed fairly poorly on battery.

If you install any gpu monitoring software (MSI Afterburner for example) it will provide a graph which shows your gpu usage. As per earlier screenshots in this thread, mine was all over the place! Be interesting to see if yours is.

Got it running and have been looking at the graph for 5 mins. GPU and CPU hovering around 40-45 decC. Cant see any usage spikes that wouldn't be me.

Im running it on battery with no tasks running (apart from 4 tabs on chrome).
